Freeman Dyson's takePosted by DickT on May 10, 2003 at 07:03:27: Here's an article by Freeman Dyson on the science of global warming (in the form of a book review). He stresses that it's all much more complicated than press reports would suggest, and that carbon dioxide greenhouse production could be self-limiting. Carbon dioxide not only fosters plant growth but causes the plants to produce a larger mass of roots in respect to leaves. The roots decay in the winter and make new soil. Soil absorbs carbon dioxide. Only a small increase in the depth of top soil across North America could absorb all the yearly human created carbon dioxide.
