Sadly, Supertringtheory no longer attracts the kind of posters that are now frequenting Physicsforums. Remember Angel and Phobos? Long gone.

I suppose you can say superstringtheory serves a function, with its let a hundred flowers bloom approach, but it seems to me that it suffers from the tragedy of the commons that first showed up on usenet, any public unmonitored forum becomes overwhelmed with selfish "looka-me" posters. Compare sci.physics (unmoderated) with sci.physics.research (moderated).
