The nature component on thought is that "for every kind of cognitive performance exhibited by a natural cognitive
agent, there is some quantitative system instantiated by the agent at the highest relevant level of causal organization, such that performances of that kind are behaviors of that system". The knowledge component claims
that "the causal organization of cognitive agents can and should be understood by producing dynamical models, using theoretical resources of dynamics, and adopting a broadly dynamical perspective." Those who hold to the dynamical hypothesis find it a real alternative to the
computational hypothesis, and that superiority of one over the other is an empirical issue and an open question.

The process of naturalization is one in which something taken previously to have only a divine explanation, is found to have a natural source. To this extent, Science works to naturalize our concepts of origins in general weither it be the cosmos or consciousness. The arguments generally used to favor the dynamic process are:

Empirical success
Taking time seriously
Self-organization and emergence of structure
Embeddedness
Continuity/discreteness in state
Multiple, simultaneous interactions
Multiple time scales
We can also use these arguments and they are used all the time to support modern theories and models in general. I personally in my own model derived the VSL concept from the general Embeddedness, Multiple, simultaneous interactions, and Multiple time scales one encounters within QM and String Theory in general. I see the whole picture as Self-organized and showing direct emergence of structure with even hints on how nature eventually evolved consciousness from a set of its own instructions and what we might term rare events.

In this group we have the same emergence of structure. In our own groups Journal we strive towards a simular emergence, but there, we are after sparking interest in both space travel in general and allowing people to take an honest look at all the theortical methods proposed to achieve eventual travel to the stars. We also attempt to influence on a political level the funding for both space exploration and also scientific experiments by influencing the voting public. Here and in our Journal we also encounter a multiple time flow or information flow as the case actually is.

The only real strong(notice I did not say sound) objection to naturalization is that often employed by what some call the religious right. They see some set of writting or oral tradition as being the absolute authority of their beliefs and practices. However, there is one major flaw in their arguments in general: irrespective of the religion involved they have a central power base which derives its authority from those written words or oral traditions. Since naturalization tends to place doubts upon those written or oral traditions then naturalization is naturally seen as a threat against their power base. Religion in general has always tried to fight naturalization as far as thought goes from time immortal. At one time religion dictated that everything centered around the Earth. Their reason, based loosly upon oral and written tradition was that "God" created the earth and the earth alone to populate with man. That being the case then the earth should be the center of everything. Only by virture of not being to soundly argue against observable evidence did religion in general concede that this model was wrong. They lost face to naturalization and encountered a slipping of their power base.

Naturalization is a good process and not one to be feared or misunderstood in general. It also is not the enemy of religion, since by definition religion is supposed to be a personal experience. It could be construed as an enemy of organized religions that have a strong central power base, but, only if those religions reject the common precept of man being created in "God's" own image which implies the ability to self think and comprehend.
