An interesting question. I don't know of anything more dynamic in GR than the usual expansion theory, which doesn't really go back to a singularity as I understand it. Mostly they start from the manifold as a given.

But manifold theory originally (Riemann) arose as a subtopic of partial differential equation theory and this theory has recently had considerable victories over singularities. I occasionally see papers on the archive that might relate to your idea, but they are usually in the mathematics section or the mathematical physics one. You could try looking up singularity and dynamics in those boards.
