Go to http://xxx.lanl.gov/ and scroll down to the subject area you're interested in. The two I mentioned were phenomonology (hep_ph) and lattice (hep-lat - I spelled that wrong in the prior post).
Phenomonology is the specialized art of taking theories and developing something experimentalists can actually test for.
Lattice physics is done on a discrete spacetime which reduces continuous things to countable ones. It has the power to explore non-perturbative areas of theories.

These boards are where the fine points get polished up.
