Perhaps, this is not germane to the topic, but recent psychological studies indicate a relationship to a type of mental meditation and walking on a stone path labyrinth found in ancient monasteries. Monks found that such activity could "bring peace of mind". I'm tempted in building such a convoluted stone path, myself.
