How do the philosophers of physics explain the magic of collapsing wave functions. Please explain in terms of electromagnetic waves which presumably collapse into photons when they interact with electrons. Or, if you happen to define a photon as a group of EM waves, then how does that kind of photon interact with the electrons of a detector in an atom of matter. Or if the photon and EM waves exist separately, with the waves guiding the microscopic photon particles, what makes the EM waves disappear when the photon is absorbed. Or, is the foundation of physics completely ambiguous? Where do you stand. yanniru
