Which Brings Us Back Too...?Posted by sol on May 13, 2003 at 07:52:24: In Reply to: Mandala's at the Heart of Creation posted by sol on May 13, 2003 at 07:03:43: Smolin and the developement of the logic he implored in writing three roads. Does he do it again in the developement of the Perimeter( can't remeber how to spell it) Institue? Yes I would say so. It is a summation of knowledge that requires a basis from which to speak abuot all that is currently gained from the patterns developed. That once you develope a pattern in research, you might have expounded it to greater lengths, by being invited to gather other minds in a expose' of many points of views(collage of experience)and come away from it with a jump off point?:) So he saids now, that he has firm conviction, about what can be gained from LQG or Strings, Lauglin and the many others? We had to understand something here before we went to far, that the very basis of this thinking rests on the pattern selection we will use to determine the basis of everything? For me it was difficult, because without some basis, what and how can I speak about anything, without some framework? Not to put it lightly, the requirements of the maths are the histories of thought processes, and how could any of this ever begin, without a basis from which to draw from? So we have a understanding here now, that I have drawn parallels to other men like Feynman, Eisntein, or Lauglin( I add Wheeler here becuase of his insight of the geon[a formulization in terms of the graviton])and not to minimize Dewitts contribution, but to recognize the developing role he is playing. Woman like Lisa Randall, and all those who contribute to the roads(pathways of understanding) We now have a clear picture I hope, of what First Principles entail. Is it a worth the linking of information that I have presented a picture for viewing in light of the work that is going on? I will have to wait for comments in this regard. Sol
