This is a wonderful paper on the fine points of the Hilbert space method and the Dirac bra-ket formalism. As the author says, most textbooks don't really emphasize the proper definiton of operators.

Tour comments on operator ordering, etc. are also well taken. May I enquire what patricular studies have led you to stress these valid points?
