The results are different for changing experimental criteria. Place a detector at both slits and there is no interference effects [the result is what you would expect from a classical perspective]. Remove the detectors at the slits and the interference effects reappear. Lanecove had a good idea but apparently nobody was interested. Common occurence when 'pet' theories are involved.
