The experiment you posted in here did not mention the source of their Proton studied.If the Hydrogen atom's electron was peeled off then the shape of the proton must have been rather sphericalBut if the proton came from some other sources the shapes might be different due the electron shells interaction.It is like when moon light occurs the webs and tides on earth are affeected,mass of the earth gets distrorted due to moon's gravitational forces acting on earths surface.We know that the poton is not a solid massive body.The speed of quark concept rather needs scrutiny since we had never observed quarks yet,the only conclusions are due to QCD,and speculative.
