The lobes (or orbitals of electrons). At least one pole of the Hydrogen-atom will have a non-zone or forbidden area for the electron This sounds promising. How does one determine a (the?) "pole of the Hydrogen-atom"? At first blush it sounds like simple chemical reactions involving hydrogen would be the way to do the testing, or perhaps very precise physical chemistry?
