Sol, you have raised a very important point.
Why I became interested in what you posted was due to my continuous clearing of my library books and I came across a few books written by Dr. Erich Fromm, books that I read almost fifty years ago. Re-reading some of these books, I found that what Dr. Fromm said back than was just as true as today. You should never apologise for being a "mystic" as you stated. Dr. Fromm included an interesting quote from Dr. Albert Schweitzer, "Rational thinking which is free from assumptions ends in mysticism.". Fromm regards "mysticism" as one of the highest forms of cosmic realization.
I wondered how Zen ideas as you have presented, which are directed at achieving such reality, would apply? Also, how would someone like Einstein who had a explored to the limit the viewpoint of reality based sciences and still found no final answers, embrace "mysticism"--or would "mysticism" embrace him?
