IT DELETED MY POST TWICE BECAUSE I DID NOT WRITE MY ALIAS CORRECTLY!! THIS WAS A LOT OF WORK! DARN IT! The general conclusion, however, was: I used DickT's approach to derive these expressions, unproved, but working: Even-dimensional sphere (PiR)^D/(factorial:D) Odd dimensional sphere 2^[(D+1)/2) * pi^(D-1) * R^D / [(D)(D-2)(D-4)..] where the latter sequence ends with 1. I believe the expression for this is 'double factorial' but I have never liked it due to the confusion with (x!)!. The odd dimensional formula is paticularly nice since it even works for d = 1, giving 2R.
