The interactions in the LHC will certainly produce photons, but probably mosy of them will pair-produce. Energies should be up in the TEV range.

The argument that we can't use photons to penetrate subatomic particles because some photons have longer wave lengths is lame. Some photons have wavelengths too long for optics and microwave ovens too.
