In the Einsteinfs equivalence principle, both falling apple of A and B is in the inertia systems and the rockets are in the acceleration systems, as long as I understand. The difference what I'd like to say is that, in the case of A, apple is in the (gravitational) acceleration system and rocket is in the inertia system where the gravitational force is canceled by the upward drag from the ground.

Both case is the combination of the inertia and acceleration systems so we can't tell which is which as you mentioned.
