Fusion in the sun

I thought this maybe relative as I was just told this by an astronomer the other day.

Did you know that fusion in the sun does not happen by pressure or collision or heat etc. It is the HUP and spontaneous fusion that turns H into He.

I assume there maybe some surprises if for store for fusion in colliding BHs as there was for the majority of the sun's fusion process.
