There is too much in this paper for me to be able to figure it all out in a short time. The overview is that it is based on good information but it still relies on unproven ideas. They admit there are problems that have to be overcome for the theory to be accepted. Personally I do not need quintessence to explain the current observations. What will be the deciding factor is whether the acceleration is real. The High-Z group is far from proving that. UT predicts a lack of deceleration but not an acceleration so the final results will tell the truth about which is correct.
