I used this sometime ago and would be interested in the results you give(do you have a direct link), or better still if you have a web-camera, maybe we can set up a web-meeteing, then in 'real time' we can visualize and compare our tests? The early Arab mystics were instrumental in their understanding of Geometry, the Ancient Greeks adopted these 'secrets' after visiting Egypt and The Pyramids, the evolution of 'Building and Societies' from the geometry of the Pyrymids is where we are indebted to these ancient people's, more so the Egyptian Mystics than to the Greek Mathematicians who translated and adapted it into Geometry. We can see that the basic 'rule' and 'compass' are infact derived from the Egyptian 'string' . For sure you can take a piece of 'string', and if one place's one end at a fixed point, then motion the other end around in an arc, then you have used the string as a COMPASS! If you fold the string in half, you can define the center of the circle , you do not need any Mathematical Numbering system, you can perform everything a compass can do with this one piece of string! they are one and the same! Now the interesting thing the Greeks did to the piece of string they fetched from Egypt, was to make it of different lengths, then 're-join' these lengths into an actual COMPASS. They then derived a Mathematical Formula(adapted from they philosophical inqiuries)and placed the number 3 at one edge of a circle(one edge of the string), and they realized that no matter what length the string was, 3 was always the first number. You can imagine that a compass is the number Pi when the compass is 'opened out' it is really the length of string! fold a piece of string and you have a compass! Now the REALLY INTERESTING thing the Ancient Egyptians done, was to FOLD THE STRING, hold the string 'taught' and upright, so that its corners/ends, produce two points on the ground, then turn it 180 degrees and then the next two points produce the four corners of a SQUARE! Now just using your imagination a little?..this simple rotation of a 'string' moves from a triangle(up-right opened-compass) to the foundation of the PYRAMID!..which at its four corners is SQUARE! These Mystical Motions were very sacred to the Egyptians, and rightly so, for it is these geometric considerations that are the whole basis of the Universe itself. There are lots of 'other' things that can be gained by a piece of string!
