If N is any and P<>N is its potential then:
NP=const
in isolated system.
Example:

F * D = G * M = V * Q

F=force=geometrical potential
D=geometrix=equilibrium distance
G=gravity potential
M=equilibrium mass
V=electric potential
Q=equlibrium charge.

F=GM/D is sort of gravity law
F=VQ/D is sort of Coulombian law
